The BoB Breakout Board Kits are designed to provide access to the inputs/outputs of all M-series OpenECU electronic control units. The ECU is connected to one end of the board, and signals can be routed to either an existing vehicle loom or external connectors.
Typical applications include module testing, system development and fault-finding. The external connectors can be used to connect sensors and loads or monitor communication buses, and on-board LEDs indicate the status of digital inputs and outputs.
Connections to ECUs are provided by a custom loom between the Mxxx and the ECU, while a daughter board provides suitable connectors for an existing vehicle loom. Each Mxxx is supplied, as standard, with looms and daughter boards for the corresponding Mxxx OpenECU product. Our engineering services team can design suitable connections for other ECUs that have compatible pin requirements.
There is a common base board used in the BoB Kits for each OpenECU family. Breakout Board Conversion Kits are available that will convert a base board for use with another member of the same family. For example any M2xx BoB Kit can be converted for use with any M2xx family member.
